When does a pool need to be resurfaced? This depends on when the pool was installed, the last time it was resurfaced, and what material the surface is. For example, cement and plaster usually need to be resurfaced every three to seven years. More durable material lasts up to 15 years before it needs to be resurfaced.

How do you know when your pool deck needs to be repaired? An old pool deck will start to crack, the color will begin to fade, there will be chemical stains, and mold and algae growth will become more frequent. Cleaning, sealing, and maintaining your pool deck can help prevent some of these from occurring.

Keep a close eye on pool tiles! Pool tiles can be a beautiful added feature to your swimming pool. But, if they become faded or cracked they might need to be replaced. It's important to maintain your pool tiles on a regular basis by researching the proper cleaner for the tile material. Failing to do so can lead to an excessive amount of dirt and debris clogging your filter. In the meantime, monitor the filter, remove any foreign objects that go into the pool, and keep a close eye on your pool until a screen goes up.
