COVID-19; CDC & State Health Department guidance for Pools and Spas

Dear Sweetwater Customers,

We have received numerous calls regarding whether we would be allowed to continue pool & fountain service during these challenging times. We have received guidance from Government officials and are pleased to advise you that State Licensed Pool & Spa contractors are deemed Essential Services. This is because to maintain pathogens (virus, bacteria, or other micro-organisms that can cause disease) at bay, you need to maintain adequate levels of sanitizers in your pool.

Give us a call if you have any concerns about your pool sanitation system. Other options to maintain you pool healthy are:

  • Saltwater Chlorine Generator- continuously provide and generate Chlorine for your pool.
  • UV (ultraviolet light) system that destroys pathogens as the water flows around the UV light tube.

Please keep in mind that together we will get through this. If you have any questions about how your pool is sanitized, or the systems I mentioned above please do not hesitate in calling us.

The following is a link to the CDC’s guidance that states: “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.” www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html

Kind Regards,
